College Life: Tips for Managing Finals Stress

Finals season is upon those of us in college, and it inevitably brings an almost unbearable amount of stress with it. The weather is finally nice enough outside that you don’t need a jacket, and the only thing you likely want to do is sit outside and tan or play volleyball with your friends.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite summertime yet. While procrastinating studying for finals may seem like a good idea, it’s definitely not.

Here are my top 5 tips for getting through finals:

1. Study

The reason you’re in college is to learn. Your grades are important, so make sure you actually study for all of your tests.

2. Make time to relax

Yes, studying and doing well on your tests is important, but you can only study for so long before you feel like you’re going insane. Make time to relax and hang out with your friends.

3. Do a Facemask

Facemasks are the best stress relievers. Get a group of friends together and do a spa night before finals. Do facemasks and paint each others nails.

4. Make a Playlist for Studying

Personally, I can’t study without background noise. Make a playlist of relaxing music that you can play in the background when you’re trying to study.

5. Drink Enough Water

Finals week is usually when everyone is running on no sleep and coffee. Make sure you stay hydrated and are drinking enough water. It’ll help improve your concentration, plus it’s warm out so drinking water is better than all that coffee.

Hopefully these tips are helpful for managing your stress during finals week.
