Girls Night: Fashion, Facemasks, and Fun

*This post was originally published on November 28, 2016*

We’re already almost done with first semester. Friend groups have been established for a while, and so have traditions within those groups.

Like most people in college, our group consists of the entire gender spectrum, with a fairly even mixture of guys and girls. Even though we all love spending time together as a big group, us girls have started doing Girls Night every month. It’s a great opportunity for all of us to catch up and talk togeter.

We usually do typical “girly” things; nails, hair and make up, facemasks, etc…
Last month, we did each others hair and makeup, got dressed up, and walked around campus at 3 a.m. and took pictures.

We all have very similar, yet very different styles, so it was fun for everyone to help style each other. We all had jackets on, because it was 3 a.m. and it was chilly outside (not that this stopped us from wearing dresses). Here are some group pictures:

I love Allison’s hair so much– it’s really long, and it’s not straight, but it’s also not curly like mine. We left her hair mostly down so that you could see it in the pictures. Makeup was pretty natural; just enough so that her features were highlighted. I love the olive green dress with her hair and skin tone. Plus, it spins really nicely, and everyone who doesn’t love dresses that spin?!?

I spent I don’t even know how long straightening Kalie’s hair. It was really fun to do though! Since her outfit had darker colors (blue and black), we went a little darker with her makeup. I think my favorite part of her outfit was the blue suede boots. Unfortunately for me, they aren’t my size..

Emily wore an adorable black and white polka dot dress. We left her hair down, and attempted (and failed) to curl it. Her makeup was pretty natural, but again, it was enough to bring out her natural features. I had my camera out at the beginning of the night and got some good pictures of her. Unfortunately, the batteries died within 10 minutes, so we had to use our phones for the rest of the night.

I didn’t really know what to wear for this, not that it was a real photoshoot or anything, but I still wanted to make sure I looked nice. I did my own makeup, Allison braided my hair for me, and I put on my favorite black dress and heels.

This was definitely a fun night that we’ll all remember for a long time. Girls night is such a fun tradition, and personally, I’m glad we started it because we get to make fun memories like this.
