Disneybounds Day 3: Ohana Breakfast, Hollywood Studios, and More

As promised, here’s the fourth post in the Disney World series!

For our third day of the trip, Andrew and I were able to get breakfast reservations at Ohana in Disney’s Polynesian Resort. I had never been to this resort, or to Ohana, but heard amazing things about both online and in vlogs on YouTube.

We’ll be doing a food review on my YouTube channel soon, but the breakfast at Ohana was great! It’s served “all-you-care-to-enjoy” style, which means your waiter or waitress will bring you as much food as you want! It’s like a buffet, but they bring the food to you instead of you going to the food.

This is also a character meal with Lilo and Stitch and friends! We were lucky enough to meet most of the characters right away when we sat down, which was super fun.  We also met Mickey Mouse!

Since we were having breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, we had to Disneybound as them!

I ended up wearing this dress from Hot Topic that’s the same print as Lilo’s, which she loved! Andrew wore a pair of blue basketball shorts and a Stitch shirt from BoxLunch.

After breakfast we headed to Hollywood Studios. This was Andrew’s first time in that park, which meant he had never been to Toy Story Land or Galaxy’s Edge! I was able to go to Toy Story Land over the summer, but Galaxy’s Edge is brand new to the park so it was my first time there as well.

The theming in both of these lands is so great! In Toy Story Land, you really feel like one of Andy’s toys– everything is larger-than-life, and so brightly colored! We rode Alien Swirling Saucers and Toy Story Mania (Andrew won). Unfortunately, the wait for Slinky Dog Dash was too long, but we’ll ride it next time!

Our first time in Galaxy’s Edge did not disappoint! Even though I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, it was still amazing! Unfortunately, the wait for both rides was incredibly long, but we still had fun walking around and taking photos!

Instead of heading to Animal Kingdom that night, we ended up back in the Magic Kingdom so we could do some of the rides we didn’t get to the day before.

This park is so gorgeous at night, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of it! The holiday decorations were still up, which meant Cinderella’s Castle was turned to ice at night.

Disneybounds Day 2: Happy New Year from Magic Kingdom

Welcome to the third post in my Disney World series!

Our first park day was also New Year’s Eve, so naturally we spent the day in Magic Kingdom.

This was such a long, but fun day! We were in the park by 7:30/7:45 a.m., and ended up leaving around 8 PM because we were so tired. Unfortunately we missed the midnight fireworks.

We decided to Disneybound as Ariel and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid!

Andrew’s outfit was a simple and subtle Disneybound. He wore gray shorts, a white T-shirt, tennis shoes, and tied a red bandana through a couple of his belt loops to symbolize Eric’s red belt.

I decided to go all-out with my Ariel outfit! Most of my outfit was from Ragstock, and my crown was from Claire’s.

I wore a purple skater skirt, metallic green bandeau (which isn’t really visible in the photos), and a tank top with starfish on it! I decided to opt for comfort instead of style for my shoes, and wore my tennis shoes.

For accessories, I had this amazing seashell crown from Claire’s, and a Flounder purse from the Disney Store! I didn’t get any good pictures of it, but the crown actually lights up!

I loved putting this outfit together, and will definitely be wearing it again on a future Disney trip!

Disneybounds Day 1: Travel Day

Welcome to the second post of my Disney World series!

For New Year’s this year, my boyfriend and I went to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida! Click here to read the first post in this series where I explained how I packed for our trip with only a carry on bag and a personal item.

The first day of our trip was our travel day. We had a 6 a.m. flight, which means we had to get up super early to get to the airport on time.

Since we were traveling, we wanted to keep our outfits comfortable and casual.

Andrew and I (Alexis) at the airport in Minneapolis.

Andrew wasn’t really Disneybounding, but he did wear a Disney T-shirt with jeans and a hoodie. Layers are important when you’re traveling from a snowstorm in Minnesota to the warmth of Florida!

I decided to Disneybound as a Pineapple Dole Whip!

If you’ve ever been to Disney World, you’ll know that this is one of the signature treats! If you don’t know what it is, it’s a pineapple flavored soft serve ice cream!

My outfit consisted of a sundress with a pattern that reminded me of pineapples, a jacket for leaving MN, a green headband, and pineapple earrings. I also had a sequined pineapple coin purse that I forgot to take a photo of. For wandering around Disney Springs, I brought along my Stitch crossbody purse.

Travel day outfits can be hard to pick out, especially when you’re going from a cold place to a warm place. We dressed in layers, which worked perfectly!

Packing for Disney World

Welcome to the first of many blog posts about my trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida!

Today, I’ll be showing you guys how I packed for a 5-day, 4-night vacation in only my carry on bag and a personal item (allowed when you fly).

I’ll be the first one to admit that I overpack for vacations ALL. THE. TIME. This trip was different, since I only had the two bags to work with.

To save space, and make sure I wasn’t bringing too much with, I packed my outfit for each day into a gallon-sized resealable bag labeled with what day I was wearing it. I was able to stack these inside my carry-on bag, and still had room for the pair of shoes I wasn’t wearing, and a small park bag that matched each outfit. I put accessories for each outfit into the bag that matched so everything was easy to find.

My “personal item” is the bag I used as a park bag to carry things like my water bottle, sunscreen, and my autograph book for characters. My boyfriend didn’t have to worry about organizing his suitcase too much, since most of his clothes folded nicely. Luckily, we were able to use the extra space in his bags for snacks and souvenirs.

I’m sorry there aren’t more photos for this post, but stay tuned to my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter for more photos from the trip! We tried our best to vlog while we were there, and the first one comes out next Monday, January 20, 2020! I can’t wait for you guys to see them! On the same day, I’ll be posting on here about our outfits!

I hope you guys have a great week!

Disneybounding June 2019

This week, Megan and I thought it would be fun to share all of our outfits from our trip to Disney World!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept of “Disneybounding”, it’s dressing in an outfit inspired by a Disney character. Adults started this trend because anyone over the age of 14 isn’t allowed to wear a costume in the parks at Walt Disney World.

We didn’t get too into it, but we did try to dress like some of our favorite characters!

This post is a collaboration between Megan and I, as will the rest of our Disney posts!

Day 1:

This was our travel day so we both wanted to be comfortable on our flight. Once we got checked into the hotel, we hopped on a bus to Disney Springs for some shopping and exploring!

Megan: Since we were traveling this day, I was more concerned with being comfortable on the plane and around the airport than anything else. A comfy Breath of the Wild shirt and yoga pants, with some Minnie ears for Day 1.

Alexis: I had on black shorts, a red tank top, a black and white polka-dot shirt from the Disney Store, and classic, black-and-red Minnie Ears!

Day 2:

This was our first park day! In the morning, we went to Animal Kingdom for early-morning Extra Magic Hours, and that afternoon we went to Hollywood studios.

For Animal Kingdom, we both opted for fun animal prints! I love this cheetah-printed dress from J.C. Penney. It was super comfortable for walking around the park!

We ended up going back to the resort for a few hours in the afternoon to cool off; it was super hot and we needed to get out of the heat for a while. I changed before we left for Hollywood studios where we had a fast pass for Alien Swirling Saucers! We also did Toy Story Mania and Slinky Dog Dash, but I’ll be doing a post on our favorite rides soon!

For the afternoon, I Disneybounded as a casual Aurora from Sleeping Beauty!  I had on denim shorts and a light pink, off-the-shoulder crop top. Megan stayed in the same outfit she had on from Animal Kingdom that morning.

Day 3:

For our second full park day, we went to Magic Kingdom in the morning because we had breakfast reservations at the Crystal Palace! Megan was Disneybounding as Tinkerbell (one of my personal favorite characters), and I went as Piglet from Winnie the Pooh! For those of you who don’t know, Crystal Palace is a character dining experience with Winnie the Pooh and friends!

Megan: My outfit was reminiscent of Tinkerbell with denim shorts, a green crop top, and a black lace jacket to help keep the sun off my shoulders. Having a second layer was great for when we stopped in air conditioned buildings as well. The heat in Florida was crazy compared to the Midwest’s “third winter!”

Alexis: For my Piglet outfit, I found light pink shorts in a sweat pant material, a darker pink tank top, and a headband from Claire’s that was reminded me of Piglet’s ears! As we were waiting to go to our reservation, a cast member walking by actually said “Hi Piglet” to me! That was definitely one of the highlights of my day!

For the afternoon and evening, we went to Epcot!  We didn’t go back to our resort at all, so we stayed in the same outfits.

Day 4:

This was our last park day, so naturally, we had to stay in Magic Kingdom all day. We were lucky enough to be able to get breakfast reservations at Be Our Guest, and it was amazing. Like I mentioned earlier in this post, I’ll be doing a food review post soon!

Both Megan and I went Disneybounding for this day!

Megan: My outfit was Minnie Mouse inspired: an adorable red and white polka-dot tank top, a black skater skirt, the same black lace jacket from the day before, and a pair of classic Minnie ears. This was actually the most comfortable outfit of the trip, and the most Disney one, too!

Alexis: I went as a casual Cinderella! I found a light blue skater skirt at Ragstock that’s longer in the back so you don’t have to worry about it riding up in the back when you’re walking, which was great for the parks! To go with it, I found a white crop top from J.C. Penney, which was super comfortable! To finish the look, I grabbed my rose gold Minnie ears, and a pair of spandex for under my skirt (I believe I wore my Nike pros).

Day 5:

This was our last morning in Florida. As much as we hated to leave, we were both ready to go home. Since we were traveling that day, we kept our outfits comfortable, but cute. Megan opted for shorts and a college T-shirt and I wore shorts and a Dumbo tank top I found at Target!

Since we weren’t in the parks this day, we packed and checked out of our hotel and then grabbed lunch at the food court and did some last-minute souvenir shopping.

I’m thinking about doing a “Disney Haul” video soon! Let me know in the comments if you’d watch!

Packing for Disney World

Hey everyone!

Sorry it’s been so long since my last post; school got really busy at the end of the semester and I’m currently taking summer classes online so I can graduate next spring!

I’m sure you’ve figured out from the title of this post, but I’m currently in Disney World! I’m on a girls trip with my best friend, Megan (who wrote this post a couple years ago when we did a fashion challenge together!), and will be coming back on Thursday. I’ve been to WDW twice before, but it’s her first time so it’s an extra-special trip!

Today, I thought I’d share some tips on what and how to pack for a Walt Disney World vacation.

Tip #1: Check the weather before you leave! It’s always hot, but it’s good to be prepared in case you’re not used to extreme heat.

Tip #2: Pack a light sweater or another light layer! Even though it’s hot during the day, it can get chilly once the sun goes down. Layers are also good in case you start to get sunburnt.

Tip #3: Bring a water bottle for in the parks! Staying hydrated is key at WDW. It’s super easy to get caught up in all of the magical attractions, rides, and yummy food that you can forget to drink water.

Tip #4: Dress for comfort, not style! You’ll be walking a lot, so make sure you’re comfortable in what you pack. This includes shoes! Make sure you break in any shoes you want to wear on your trip before you leave. Your feet will thank you!

Helpful Things I Packed:

1) Portable phone charger

I got this one at Target for about $5! Not only is it super cute, but it’s small and lightweight so it’s perfect for in your park bag!

2) Snacks!

Disney World is one of the few theme parks that will let you bring in your own food and snacks. There’s a full list of what you can and can’t bring online, so look at that before you go! We brought granola bars and some almonds.

3) Sunglasses/ Umbrella/Rain Poncho

The weather in Orlando can be unpredictable sometimes. Make sure you’re prepared for the sunshine, and the rain that will most likely hit WDW every afternoon (only for a short period of time though!).

4) Hand Sanitizer

This is always good to have! I got a cute holder for mine to clip to my bag so I can get to it easily.

5) Make Your Own Autograph book!

I bought a small sketchbook that I’m planning on having the characters sign! I’m also going to put photos in it so it doubles as a photo album too!

Don’t forget your Magic Bands if you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel!

And of course, you can’t go to Disney without a pair of ears!

Check out the gallery below for photos of my bags!

Check back next week for a recap of our trip!

Have a magical week!
