As you guys know, I love fashion– I wouldn’t have an entire blog dedicated to it if it wasn’t something I loved. That passion for fashion is what inspired me to create this blog for the world to read.
This post goes out to all of you who read my blog– whether you’ve been reading it from the beginning, or this is your first time because you saw the link and clicked it, this is for you:
If you’re like me, you love fashion, and chances are you have a ton of cute clothes in your closet so you can switch up your style every day of the week.
Fashion, your personal style, is a part of who you are. It’s a way to express yourself when words, or even something as powerful as music can’t. Think about it– When you’re feeling lazy, you throw on a sweatshirt, and when you want to look cute, you put on a dress and do your makeup. Fashion reflects who we are on the inside. You can tell a lot about a person just from what their wearing.
I often wear really cute outfits to school. It reflects my personal style, my personality, and my life. Whenever I wear these outfits, I’m not doing it to get attention from other people, I’m doing it because it makes me feel good about myself and it makes me feel confident. Walking down the hallways, I always feel like people look, or even stare, at me while I’m going to class. I know for a fact some of them are judging me because of my outfit. Though, I’d like to think that some of them are looking at me and thinking something along the lines of “Look at her. I wish I could be that confident.”
One of my goals in life is to help inspire other people to be the best that they can be. I believe that everyone has a purpose in life, that everyone can and will do amazing things in their life, and that their goals and dreams can be achieved if they’re willing to put in enough hard work to get there.
My point in this post is this:
Don’t let other people’s opinions of you affect how you see yourself. Don’t let any negative comments from your peers get inside your head, because whatever they say to or about you is wrong. You are an amazing person, who will amazing things. To quote Taylor Swift, “Shake It Off”. People are, and will continue to be mean and rude, but you can’t let it get to you because you know the truth: You are amazing.
Honestly, right now I’m sitting in my class writing this in a black fake leather skirt, a black and white striped turtleneck sweater, and knee-high black boots with a heel. People have looked, stared, and made comments, I’m sure, but I wore it because I wanted to and because it makes me feel good about myself. That’s really the most important thing– So if people are talking about your or judging you because of what you’re wearing, don’t pay attention. Keep being yourself keep wearing whatever you want (as long as it fits your school’s dress code), and most importantly, keep being amazing and confident!
