I think I’m just now realizing, at 17 years old, how important words really are.
I know that you’re probably thinking something along the lines of “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Words are important and they have an impact on everything in our world. Blah, blah, blah….” All stuff that we’ve heard (literally) a million times since birth.
We take this advice to heart as children, but often times disregard it as we grow into teens and young adults.
Why is this, exactly?
To be honest, I have no clue.
Just think about it for a minute though.
Literally every single word we say, write, post,Tweet, comment, has an impact on the world around us. What we see on TV and billboards or advertisements in magazines, those are words, too. Even this blog, it’s words. Graphic Tee’s, clothing, the words on a baseball cap or beanie; they all reflect who you are as a person, so make sure that you’re projecting the right image of yourself (this can be done through both your words and your style/fashion/the clothes that you wear).
As the picture above says “The Shirt Says it All…”. All of these graphic Tee’s are super cute and have great messages, such as “Stay Beautiful” and “. Dreamers Never Say Die”. You can use your style to help inspire someone, and I think that’s amazing! 💕
A really great example is Zendaya Coleman, from Disney Channel’s hit shows, Shake It Up and KC Undercover. I don’t know all of the details, but these are screenshots of what Ms. Coleman posted on Instagram:
I personally think that it’s amazing that she’s using her words to help speak out, be gracious, kind and forgiving, instead of “…posting the first mean words that came to my mind…”. This shows a lot about who she is, and I completely respect her for this!
I guess the point I’m trying to make is this:
Always be conscious of your words; use them to inspire people, instead of bringing them down.
I know there wasn’t a lot of fashion/style stuff in this post, and ion sorry for that! This is just something that I felt that I had to write.
