Fourth of July

Happy 4th of July to everyone celebrating! I hope you’re all having a great (and safe!) holiday weekend.

I’ve been crazy busy working on stuff the last few weeks. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you’ve seen some sneak-peaks at my photography. I’ve been working on editing some of the photos from the school year, and I’m hoping to have them up on here soon.

This weekend you’re going to be seeing a ton of red, white, and blue outfits all over your Instagram feeds. I wanted to share a few outfit ideas that are patriotic, but are still cute, and can be worn all summer long.

1) Dresses

A dress in red, white, or blue is great for this weekend. It makes you look patriotic, especially when you pair it with red, white, and blue accessories. The great thing about a plain-colored dress, though, is that you can wear it other than on the 4th and still look super-cute, without looking super patriotic.

2) Denim Shorts and a Plaid Shirt

This is a casual look that’s perfect for a Fourth of July bonfire. Denim shorts are a summer staple, and a plaid or checked shirt in a combination of red, white, and blue is perfect for the holiday, but can also be worn all summer.

3) White Shorts and a Striped Crop Top

This is a look that’s perfect for a day at the beach or the lake. It’s cute, casual, and still in the American spirit. You can definitley still wear this the rest of the summer, giving you that nautical-insired look that’s totally in right now.

4) Swimsuit and a Cover-Up

This is another outfit that’s perfect for spending the day at the beach or the lake. If you’re spending the day out on the water, chances are you’ll be getting wet so you’ll want you’re swimsuit on. Throw on you’re fave red, white, and blue suit, and a pair of shorts or a cotton dress along with some flips, and you’re set for a fun day!

No matter what you’re doing this weekend, here’s a checklist of must-have items for a great holiday:

  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Cute hat
  • T-shirt

Make sure you’re protected from the sun and use (and re-apply!) sunscreen and bugspray. If you start to get sunburnt, throw on a t-shirt and/or a cute hat.

Again, I hope you all have a fun, safe, and stylish 4th of July weekend!
